Per John Finger at CSN Philly, the Sixers have waived guard Xavier Silas and veteran center Mikki Moore.

Moore, 36-years old, is an NBA journeyman and was signed this month for front court depth while newly acquired center Andrew Bynum is recovering from a non-surgical procedure on his knee. Xavier Silas, 24-years old, was signed late last season by the Sixers and remained on their active roster throughout the playoffs (though he didn’t see any playing time). During Summer League action, Silas was injured during a nasty collision against the Detroit Pistons. He suffered several sinus fractures and had to undergo surgery.

Both players were long shots to make the opening day roster. The Sixers roster now stands at 16.
