Ladies and gentleman, Juan Castillo is going to the Super Bowl.

The former Defensive Coordinator was recently hired by the Baltimore Ravens as the Running Game Coordinator in 2013. Subsequently, Castillo will serve as a consultant for the next two weeks prior to Super Bowl XLVII. He will help the coordinators, players, and coaches during this period as the Ravens prepare for the big game.

However, if the Ravens do indeed win the Super Bowl, Juan Castillo will receive a ring. No, not a wedding ring, a Super Bowl ring.

This is another endorsement to hard work. Castillo was said to be the most devoted coach at the NovaCare Complex during his time in Philadelphia, often sleeping in his own office at late hours. After being bullied by former DL coach Jim Washburn, Castillo was fired by Andy Reid, who cited the team’s “average” play.

Castillo has worked diligently in every task placed in front of him. He now has a chance at a coveted Super Bowl ring, something Jim Washburn and Andy Reid may have to wait for.

JaMarcus Russell and Vince Young can learn from this incident. If nothing else, they will rue their utter lack of pride and massive ego while sitting at home on a couch in 2013.

Good for Juan Castillo. This guy was one of the most loyal and hardworking guys on the team, and Fat Boy fires him before he fires that racist bully Washburn. I’ll never understand that move.
