Despite losing that game, the Flyers somehow still have a very slight chance of making the playoffs. has the Flyers’ playoff chances at a measly 1.3%…

Yes, Flyers fans there’s still a chance but I wouldn’t bet on it. It’s much more likely that the 1.3% will reach 0% in the next week or so. If the Flyers’ chances were to reach 0 with 4 or 5 games remaining we may potentially get a sneak peek into the Flyers’ future.

Ever since Gordon took over the bench, the abundant AHL talent that the Flyers have been growing down in the farm system has been making its way up to the big team.  Players like Hart, Lindblom, Myers, and Sanheim were playing for the Phantoms last year at this time. That group of players is currently a huge part of the team, making up a majority of the young core. And we may see more of these players and some we have yet to see toward the end of the year if the Flyers are playing meaningless hockey. Sam Morin would most likely be the first to appear as he is currently on the Flyers but, has only 3 appearances. Despite not being a regular at the moment he is scheduled to be a huge piece of the Flyers’ defensive core going forward.

Young players getting a chance to play NHL level hockey will give the young group some good game-time experience and a chance for the Flyers’ fans to take a look into the future. A future that is hopefully bright and ends with a trip down broad street carrying Lord Stanley…sooner rather than later.
