NCAAF (Philly) PREVIEW – Week 10: Villanova Looks to Rebound After a Heartbreaking Loss to Stony Brook
Villanova is in the midst of a brief two-game losing skid. Their losses, however, aren’t a concern for panic.
After winning six straight to start the season, the Wildcats lost to No. 2 ranked James Madison on the road, and 20th ranked Stony Brook on a last-second field goal. This week their focus is on a struggling New Hampshire offense which is being led by a freshman quarterback.
Villanova’s arch-rival Delaware has unofficially been eliminated from postseason contention. Poor coaching from Danny Rocco has kept the ball out of his most elite player’s hands Will Knight. They now have to win out, just to have an outside chance of reaching the postseason.
In the Ivy League, Penn gave a tough Yale program a battle but came up short. This week they’ll get a much more favorable matchup with Brown.

This isn’t the type of battle either program was hoping for, but this can be dubbed as the cellar bowl. The loser will be alone in last place with no Ivy League victories. Neither team has been good this year, but Brown’s defense couldn’t be farther from decent. The Bears are getting torched for 42 points per game, and it’s their defense that will let them down again.
Prediction: Pennsylvania 34, Brown 29
Delaware at No. 21 Towson
The Blue Hens season is just about over. Head coach Danny Rocco has failed to give his best player running back Will Knight the ball. His poor coaching decisions have likely cost the team a postseason run, and despite the return of quarterback Nolan Henderson, Rocco announced that quarterback Pat Kehoe will split snaps. Kehoe has been awful, and the Towson defense will get antsy when he goes under center. Rocco ought to be on the hot seat after this season.
Prediction: Towson 29, Delaware 24
No. 11 Villanova at New Hampshire
No need to fear, all is well in Philadelphia. Villanova will right the ship this weekend, as their defense will feast upon the young UNH offense. New Hampshire has a strong defense, however, poor offensive play will keep Villanova in possession, and inevitably wear down New Hampshire’s defense.
Prediction: Villanova 26, New Hampshire 21
