While Zach Ertz normally gets the spotlight as the top receiver for the Eagles this season, with his current injury status unknown Eagles fans need to focus their attention on the other two top receivers in the Eagles offensive trio: Dallas Goedert and Miles Sanders.

Between the three players, they have provided needed firepower on offense and scored a combined 14 passing TD’s and have kept the Eagles playoff hopes very much alive with the NFC East title in the striking distance against the New York Giants this Sunday.Dallas Goedert is in his second season with Eagles after arriving in Philadelphia as a second-round draft pick in 2018.  Coming out of South Dakota State, Goedert was a 2 time FCS All-American. During his rookie season last year, Goedert tied for the most receiving TD’s by a rookie tight end (4) and has become the second TE target for Carson Wentz this season behind Zach Ertz.Goedert has recently stepped up as a true receiving threat and had career games both against the Redskinswhere he had 5 receptions for 55 yards and last week he had a highlight game with 9 receptions for 91 yards and a TD in the Eagles win over the Cowboys. Goedert is continually developing as a receiving threat and will certainly continue to be an offensive weapon in Doug Pederson’s arsenal for seasons to come.

The third offensive threat that Carson Wentz can rely on is rookie Miles Sanders.  Sanders is having a ROY (Rookie of the Year) type season at running back and is proving to be a dual-threat back in both run and passing schemes.

Sanders is sitting at 170 carries for 766 yards rushing and 3 TD’s (second among NFC rookies) while at the same time he also has 47 catches for 510 yards and 3 passing TD’s as well which places him fourth among NFC rookies for pass receptions.

In either case, Sanders is a key ingredient to the Eagles offensive success and if he stays healthy he will no doubt be an important factor in the Eagles backfield in the future.
