The Sixers look to begin their short 8-game season this Saturday, 8/1.

Although they are currently sitting in the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference and can only move up to the 4th seed by the end of the season, fans have been buzzing with excitement over the potential this squad carries.

This may be the most unpredictable season in the history of the NBA due to the havoc wreaked by the novel Coronavirus, yet this is the 100% accurate, undoubtedly correct, and inarguable prediction of the way these 8 games will shake out.

Indiana Pacers // August 1st (SAT) // 7:00 PM EST

The Sixers are 1-2 against Indiana this season, however, both of those losses came in games without star center Joel Embiid. Though Embiid missed the past two scrimmages due to right calf discomfort, I expect this was precautionary and for him to be both healthy and dominant as he matches up against the much smaller Myles Turner.

San Antonio Spurs // August 3rd (MON) // 8:00 PM EST

Coming off of what I expect to be a dominant win over the Pacers, the Sixers should be able to pull together a strong offensive performance against the Spurs, who have struggled defensively this year. With Embiid and Ben Simmons a solid match-up against LaMarcus Aldridge and Demar Derozan, the Sixers will be pulling away from this game with a 2-0 record.

Washington Wizards // August 5th (WED) // 4:00 PM EST

If the Sixers can beat the Spurs lowly defense, they’ll be lucky to play maybe the worst defense in the league in the game following. Not only is their defense lackluster, but the Wizards enter the season resumption with the current worst record and with Bradley Beal their only real offensive threat. The Sixers are starting to look good.

Orlando Magic // August 7th (FRI) // 6:30 PM EST

The Sixers will be coming off 3 straight wins when they are set to face the Magic, and though they have struggled against the Magic this year (0-3 so far), the best thing the Magic may have going for them is that the season will be played in their hometown. The Sixers should add another tally to the Win column and will move to 4-0 after the restart.

Portalnd Trail Blazers // August 9th (SUN) // 4:30 PM EST

With Ben Simmons currently starting at Power Forward, the Sixers suddenly lack star talent at the guard positions, which isn’t exactly the problem a team wants to have when they’re up against the Portland TrailBlazers who are quite the opposite.I expect Damian Lilliard and Cj McCollum to take advantage of the Sixers problem and give them their first loss since the restart.

Phoenix Suns // August 11th (TUE) // 4:30 PM EST

The Suns are a good team for the Sixers to face after being handed their first loss of the season, as they are a talented team that will command the Sixers’ focus and preparation be spot-on, but also because they are a favorable match-up for the Sixers on paper.Though Deandre Ayton shows potential next to star Guard Devin Booker, he is nothing Embiid Cant handle. Once you contain Booker, the Sixers are much deeper than the Suns and should walk away back in the win column.

Toronto Raptors // August 12th (WED) // 6:30 PM EST

After losing Kawhi Leonard in Free Agency, the Raptors have not had the drop off much thought they would, and the Reigning NBA Champions stand a real chance of appearing in the Finals for a second straight year thanks to Pascal Siakam’s improvements and their incredible depth. The Sixers will lose this game, hopefully, because they’ll be resting Embiid and other starters in preparation for the playoffs.

Houston Rockets // August 14 (FRI) // Time = TBD

Though Rockets-Sixers match-ups are usually quite entertaining, the final games of the regular season tend to be quite the opposite.I foresee both teams resting many of their starters, but I ultimately see the Sixers coming out on top thanks to some solid play by their young depth like Shake Milton and Matisse Thybulle.

Result: W

With a final record of 45-28 after going 6-2 in their final * games, the Sixers will be poised to make a serious playoff push as they hope to integrate their many talented pieces into one complete team. The team will most likely be matched up against Boston or Miami in the first round.

Hopefully, their success during these final 8 games will have set them up to bypass them and hopefully make an exciting run.
