The whirlwind of Philadelphia sports continues and this time, the Sixers look like the most promising team in Philadelphia.

The Eagles suffered a tough loss against the lowly New York Giants, the Phillies continue to refuse to address long-term front office issues, and with a quiet offseason from the Flyers, the Sixers seem primed to take the spotlight come opening night.

The Sixers at last season’s end were a disaster.

Between questions about Ben Simmons’ long term health, the bad contracts of Tobias Harris and Al Horford, and the horrendous front office, there seemed to be no light at the end of the tunnel.

In the next couple of months, the hirings of Doc Rivers and Daryl Morey happened and have drastically changed the talk around the Sixers now and as we look to the future

With trades beginning Monday at noon, the draft Wednesday evening, and free agency starting shortly after that we should be expecting a flurry of Sixers transactions in the next couple of weeks.  After Morey took over basketball operations you can almost guarantee moves to make this team a Daryl Morey team instead of an Elton Brand team.

Morey is going to bring a different drafting and free agency strategy, a proven one and frankly a welcomed one.

The Sixers have yet another golden opportunity at becoming the forefront of Philadelphia sports. They butchered the hiring and firings of Hinkie, Colangelo and I think Elton Brand. For the first time in a long time, a Philadelphia team looks to be good from the top down.

With a bunch of mediocre players like Josh Richardson, Al Horford, and Tobias Harris surrounding the Sixers two stars, I’m actually excited to see what Daryl Morey and Doc Rivers can turn this team into.
What will the Sixers get us for an early Christmas present?
