The winning streak continues and so do the Eagles chances of making a push for something a little more cozy than the 7th seed which still has 5 teams vying for the final playoff spot.

A current 8-7 tie with the 49ers sees them holding the head-to-head tiebreaker that has them in the 6th seed, however a resurgent 4-11 Texans team that’s decided to finally put some wins on the board (2-1 in last 3) might have a different idea for the 49ers who are missing QB1 Jimmy Garoppolo in this weeks practices and still remains questionable for Sunday’s match-up. If the 49ers lose and the Eagles come out with another divisional win, Playoffs are clinched and the Eagles can battle for any wildcard seed in the NFC.

The Football Team had some very lucky breaks in the first quarter of our Week 15 match-up, from unlucky bounces to disappointing drops, the start of the first quarter looked quite ugly for the Eagles, but once the defence stepped up and the offence started to roll, things quickly took a turn and Eagles fans could relax once again. This week will look a little bit different, as most of the Football Team’s Covid outbreak has ended, seeing QB Taylor Heinicke return last week against the merciless Cowboys that won by nearly 40 points, we’re either in for a revenge game, or a team that’s completely given up and just wants to secure a top 10 draft pick similar to the Eagles in the final hours of last seasons Week 17. Still missing a handful of key players, RB Antonio Gibson, DE Montez Sweat and CB William Jackson all remain Questionable for Sunday’s kickoff.

The other most important match-ups in Week 17 is the likelihood of the Packers beating the Vikings. This is a big one as eliminating the Vikings from playoff contention leaves the battle for 6th & 7th seed between 4 teams instead of 5. 4 teams that the Eagles hold tiebreakers over at least 2 of the 3 other teams that would still be in a final week push to make the playoffs.

A Bills win over the Falcons would bring this down to a 3 way race heading into week 18 depending on the outcome of the Saints game, but if Ian Book sees another start against the Panthers you pray that the Panthers can come up big and ice the Saints season for the sake of the Eagles playoff chances.

Somehow the Cardinals keep losing, despite clinching a playoff spot already, Wildcard seeding is still up for grabs, if the Cardinals lose out the final 2 weeks and the Eagles are able to win out, then the wildcard could see a total flip that has the Eagles jumping into the 5th or 6th playoff seed instead of fighting for only the 6th or 7th in week 18.

If I had to make predictions of how games would turn out this week I’d see the following

Eagles @ WFT: 33-20
Falcons @ Bills: 14-38
Texans @ 49ers: 24-21
Panthers @ Saints: 21-14
Vikings @ Packers: 24-38
Cardinals @ Cowboys: 27-28
