In 2020 the Eagles won four games, traded the supposed to be franchise quarterback, and fired their Super Bowl-winning head coach. Expectations were low heading into 2021, but the Eagles played well above those expectations. Making the playoffs after all the team went through in 2020 was impressive, but how can the Eagles improve off their 2021 season?
One way the Eagles can drastically improve off their season last year is if Jalen Hurts takes big steps as a passer. Hurts had a good season last year, but passing wise he struggled at times. Hurts left a lot of plays out on the field with missed throws or missed reads. If Hurts can improve in that area of his game then the Eagles have a huge chance to improve off their nine-win season last year. Hurts running game will always be a focal point in the Eagles game plan, but if he can improve as a passer, defensive coordinators are going to have trouble defending him.
In the NFL today, your arm has to be the reason why you win. Arm talent and accuracy. That is what we are not seeing with Jalen Hurts yet. I do think he is getting a little bit better, but its not enough. We saw the gap in arm talent with two 2nd year QBs – @36westbrook

There was a lot of good during the season last year. The Eagles found their groove with the running game halfway through the year last year. Now heading into 2022, the Eagles need to continue to pound the rock throughout the entirety of the season. The Eagles’ run game was invisible the first half of the season, that can’t happen again. The Eagles had one of the best offensive lines last season and all the starters should be returning. If the Eagles stick with the run throughout the entire season they could certainly improve off of nine wins.
The best thing to come out of last season was the in-game experience. A first-year starter at quarterback, a first-year head coach, and a first-year defensive coordinator. They all gained valuable experience that can help them improve off of last season. They all know what they need to work on and where to improve. With one year fully under their belts, the coaching staff knows what they can do better to help the team improve off of last season.
The Eagles players and coaches will have a lot to work on this off-season, and we will only be able to see how much they improved when they take the field in July for training camp and then August for preseason games.
