Howie Roseman and the Eagles front office proved that this year they are all in on Jalen Hurts. It is very clear to everybody, even people who don’t pay much attention, that this is by far the best the Eagles roster has been since 2017. Other than the safety position, the Eagles have filled just about every hole on their roster. With the addition of James Bradberry, a totally revamped linebacker room, and one of the best receivers in the league to pair with DeVonta Smith, it is very clear that there is no more excuses for Hurts.

The Eagles clearly have the best roster in the NFC East, and maybe even one of the best rosters the whole NFL. They continue to add to their offensive and defensive lines, which has proven to be an efficient way to build. They had the best run attack last year and it’s expected to be just as good this year with the help of the best O-line in the league. Their defensive line was lacking in pass rush last year, so the additions of Haason Reddick and Jordan Davis were solid. The lines on both sides of the ball are some of the deepest and best in the whole league.

One of the reasons that there is questions about Hurts’ consistency is because they had one of the lowest percentage of passes thrown last year. It’s obvious hurts has accuracy issues, but other than that was the run heavy offense all his fault? One could make the argument that Hurts passes better than what we see, and that his supporting cast last year was mostly at fault. Maybe Hurts had to run so much because teams were doubling Smith while Reagor was trying to get off the line in press coverage, and by time anyone was open he already had to take off and run. Also, maybe he didn’t have any trust in anyone other than Goedert and Smith. Either way the addition of AJ Brown will really show everyone what we have in Jalen Hurts.

This is the first time in a long time that the Eagles have one of the best receiver duos in the league. AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith could light the league on fire. With such a dynamic duo at receiver, the best offensive line in the league, and a strong game, excuses are gone for Jalen Hurts. We will really be able to see what he is this year, and if he can’t be successful with such a good roster around him, it is all on him.
