The Eagles have been underperforming at the Wide Receiver position ever since the years of Jackson and Maclin. Although Jeffrey and Smith had a solid year together, I wouldn’t say that they were feared by opposing defenses. The Eagles haven’t had two receivers this good since Jackson and Maclin, and they have the potential to be one of the best duos in the National Football League.

A trade on draft day changed everything. Unlike Tennessee, Philadelphia was happy to trade for and pay the superstar Wide Receiver. As a result, the Eagles signed Brown to a 4 year, 100 million dollar deal. The Eagles improved their team this off-season and did so by adding a running mate for former first-round pick DeVonta Smith.

I am so high on this duo because of how young both receivers are. Smith is only 23, and Brown is 24, even though it feels like he should be way older than that. Hurts now has an elite receiver on both sides of the football field.

There are still some doubters of Jalen Hurts out there, but I believe he is the man to run this team. Haters will say that Hurts can’t throw or hit open receivers, so having two wide-outs this talented won’t matter. That couldn’t be further from the truth, as having two receivers who can create separation and get open will only make his job easier. Additionally, he is just starting to build chemistry with each player. Smith and Hurts are going into their second season together and will only continue to get better. Off the field, Brown and Hurts are great friends, and I think we will see that chemistry translate to the football field.

Expectations for this team seem to grow bigger by the day, and I don’t see any reason this isn’t a playoff team that should be expected to make a deep playoff run. I also believe the Brown/Smith duo could go down as one of the best wide receiver duos in Eagles history. Each player can be on the Eagles all time great receivers list. Each player needs to go out and show how good they can be. There shouldn’t be any excuses. They need to go out and make plays every single game for this team. They simply need to go out and execute, which will lead to both players putting up monster numbers.

The Eagles have never had two receivers this talented on the field at the same time. It is an extremely exciting time to be an Eagles fan. I am excited to see what DeVonta Smith can do in his second season as an Eagle. I can’t say I watched many Titans games last year, but I can’t wait to see AJ Brown suit up in Midnight Green.

So what are your expectations for the Eagles dynamic duo this season? Should they be the best wide receiver duo in the NFL? Regardless of what you think, these two will ball out for the Birds this season.
