Week 7 Review

How to Bet on the NFL

The Philadelphia Eagles were at home resting as they took advantage of their week 7 bye week. Having a bye week will give a massive rest advantage to the eagles, especially since this is a home game for Philly, and the Steelers will be playing back-to-back road games.

The Steelers are coming off a week 7 10-16 loss against the Miami Dolphins. After defeating Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a stunning upset in week 6, it looked like the Steelers turned a corner and gained some momentum. The Steelers’ rollercoaster season continued as they again struggled offensively.

Kenny Pickett was named the starter after clearing concussion protocol this week but struggled most of the game. Pickett went 32/44 for 257 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions.

The Steelers’ defense played well enough to give their team a chance to win the game. They held Tua and the Dolphins’ offense to 371 total yards while only giving up one touchdown. Pittsburgh did a nice job containing Tyreek Hill and Jayln Waddle, as both receivers had 90 or fewer receiving yards.

The Achilles heel of the Steelers in week 7 was the turnovers. QB Kenny Pickett threw three interceptions, two of which came in the 4th quarter on Pittsburgh’s final two drives, which ultimately put the nail in their coffin.

Best Bets For The Eagles

  • Under 44 (-110)

The Steelers’ defense isn’t awful. They have a bend but don’t break the mantra to them. Per Football outsiders rank 15th in overall defense, 17th against the pass, and 10th against the run. They have allowed only two touchdowns over the last two weeks.

As for the Eagles, they rank 5th, 2nd, and 23rd in those same defensive metrics. That does not bode well for the Steeler’s offense, which ranks in the league’s bottom half in all major statistical categories.

  • Steelers Team Total u16.5 points (-110)

This goes along with the bet above. The Eagles’ defense has been one of the best in the NFL, while the Steelers’ offense has been one of the worst. Pittsburg’s offense is ranked 31 out of 32 teams in points per game (15.3); only the Broncos have been worse.
