While the title of this article is as clickbait as it gets, men lie, women lie, but something that never does, stats. While scrolling through Twitter, I came across a wild stat that proves the title, and here it is.
Joel Embiid (@JoelEmbiid) is about 11 games away from being eligible for the career PPG leaderboard on @bball_ref — here's what it will look like once he's there… pic.twitter.com/cQQNTUv6HK

Some wild takeaways from this are that Joel Embiid averages 31.6 minutes per game for his career, while the next closest player on the graphic is Kevin Durant with 36 min. Diving analytically in the PPG/36 min section where they take what your points per game would be if you played exactly 36 minutes, and look who is the greatest scorer of all time, Joel Embiid.
The efficiency is off the charts and has continued in this 2022-2023 campaign as Embiid is 2nd in the NBA in points per game at 33.6; look at the difference in efficiency within the top scorers in the NBA compared to Embiid.
Embiid has the best FG%, and he is also tied for the best 3pt% out of the five players. Not to mention, he is a center who is shooting 85.2% from the free-throw line. And before the comment section claims “foul merchant,” these five players are five out of the top six players in FTA per game.
No matter the stat, Joel Embiid shows remarkable efficiency, which is proven by this graphic.
Last center to average at least 33 ppg in a season was Bob McAdoo in 1975.

Whether he finally gets his first MVP or sadly loses to Nikola Jokic for the third year in a row, there is no denying that Joel Embiid is one of the best, if not the best, scorers to ever touch a basketball.
