High School and College
The football career of Jalen Hurts started in high school. He attended Channelview High School in Texas. During this time, Hurts was trained by his father, Averion Hurts, who was the head coach at his school. Hurts has a brother who is a fellow football player, also named Averion.

Hurts then set his mind on the University of Alabama, where he was recruited by Lane Kiffin and Bo Davis. He started playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide team in 2016.
