With Preseason games wrapping up this weekend, the NFL regular season is within arms reach.
Our favorite time of year is upon us as we get to watch our beloved Eagles dominate (knock on wood) the league once again.

The regular season also marks another milestone of the year that we fantasy football degenerates have been looking forward to…

Proudly presenting… THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES FANTASY OUTLOOK FOR THE 2023 SEASON!

Jalen Hurts

How much do I really need to say about Mr. Hurts?

He finished QB3 last year in Fantasy Football last season, only behind stud QBs Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. And this is only because he didn’t play in weeks 16 and 17…

I believe, as well as many of the top “Fantasy Experts,” that Hurts will be finishing QB1 this season in Fantasy Football.

Here are a couple of reasons why…

  • Hurts averaged 25.6 fantasy points per game, the highest average in the 2022-23 FF season.
  • He only improved more over the offseason, as well as the whole team in general (for example, our RB core)
  • His dual-threat ability, especially in the Eagles’ offense, will bring absolute dominance to the league this year once again.

There isn’t much else to say about Jalen Hurts.

If he somehow falls past the late second round in your fantasy league, I may have to find and slap every member in your league on the back of your head (metaphorically), as it just doesn’t make any sense…

Verdict: Jalen Hurts will be QB1 this year

The RB Core // DeAndre Swift, Rashaad Penny

We probably have the most deep RB room in the NFC, if not the entire league.

Picking up both DeAndre Swift and Rashaad Penny in the offseason were two key moves to further our dominance in terms of roster. However, every member of our RB room will play a role in this offense.

While this is amazing for our team in general… It is not for Fantasy Football.

If you are going to draft an Eagles running back, then look no further than DeAndre Swift. He is expected to get the majority of the pass-catching downs, which is essential for successful RBs in PPR-formatted leagues.

If Swift and Penny both don’t get hurt, they have a chance to boom.

Nonetheless, I like Swift’s outlook the best for this coming season (though it won’t be league-winning).

I’m very scared of running back committees in Fantasy. Even when it comes to our Eagles, drafting a member of a committee usually results in the equivalent of entering a 5k race and shooting yourself in the foot right when it begins…

Verdict: Swift is a mid-tier RB2 this season at best, as well as a decent flex play. Penny is a very lovely bench stash.

Wide Receivers and Goedert // A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert

A.J. Brown

AJ BROWN WILL BE A TOP-THREE FANTASY WIDE RECEIVER THIS YEAR! I apologize; I got a little excited there.

I shall start with Brown.

First off, he finished as WR4 last season. He may not have been consistent every week, but let us remember, this was his first year in the Eagles offense.

He built more and more rapport with Hurts throughout the season, and we already know he is an absolute stud.

Brown can moss every single CB in this entire league. He will be scoring many touchdowns this season.

I think JJ will definitely finish ahead of him in Fantasy (who else is on Minnesota’s offense besides him and Hock?)

Tyreek Hill has a chance, and Cooper Kupp does, too, though he might not even be ready for Week 1.

DeVonta Smith

Guys, it’s really hard to give analysis when we all know what’s going to happen… Smith finished WR10 last season.

In the same boat with Brown, he only progressed over the offseason and will once again dominate in this Philly offense. I expect the same result this coming year for him. SAID? SAID.

Quez Watkins

My hottest take about our offense is Quez Watkins.

Yes, he was unreliable a lot last season, with a couple of big drops. However, I think he is going to surprise a lot of people this coming season.

I wouldn’t be shocked if he somehow broke into the top 25 Fantasy WRs.

Dallas Goedert

Dallas Goedert is going to break out and boom so damn hard.

When I say this, I believe that he will finish in the Top 5 TEs in fantasy. He was number 10 last season.

The main reason that he wasn’t any higher was because of the underwhelming 3 touchdowns that he scored. I know he will be used more around the goal line this season.

He’s an absolute DAWG. You’re just going to have to trust me on this. I’m addicted to fantasy (a bit of a sicko)…

VERDICT: AJ Brown will be a high-end WR1 this season (and will finish in the top 3 WRs). Smith will once again have a top-10 fantasy campaign, while Quez will be a sneaky play on the bench. Expect a Top 5 Fantasy campaign out of Goedert…

Conclusion

Birds Football is back.

As a wise man once said… “I’M ABSOLUTELY STOKED BABY

Our Birds are absolutely flying off the Fantasy draft boards (as they should be).

If possible, get that nasty Hurts and either Brown or Smith stack going. It’s going to win many leagues.

Until next time… LET’S GO BIRDS
