We finally reached the bye week, and the Eagles can take their break with an 8-1 record. There have been certain position groups that have been better than others. Lets grade the offensive position groups and how they’ve done so far leading up to the bye week.
Quarterback: B+
Jalen hurts has been playing at a very high level, and he has been doing it with a knee injury. Though he has played really well through nine games, there is no denying his turnover problems so far. He has 11 total turnovers through nine games, which is his career high. He only had eight turnovers all of last year, and he had 11 turnovers through the entire 2021 season. Hurts should be able to clean things up coming out of the bye, and we will certainly need him to.
Running Back: C+
D’Andre Swift has been a really solid back for the Eagles so far through nine games. That being said, he is the only running back that has played well. Swift has 439 more rushing yards than the next Eagles running back Kenny Gainwell. The Birds will need more help from their other backs as the season rolls on
Receiver: A
It is hard to deny how amazing AJ Brown has been so far this season. He broke the NFL record for most games in a row with over 125 receiving yards which was previously held by Calvin Johnson. This awesome run may have overshadowed DeVonta Smith, but he has been really good so far this season too. He is on pace for another 1,000 yard season, and the Birds still have the best receiving duo in the league.
Tight End: B-
It is somewhat hard to grade tight end because Dallas Goedert is basically the only one wh0 plays. Hes been pretty decent so far, pulling in 38 catches for 40 yards and two touchdowns. He will miss the next few games with a broken forearm, so the Eagles will be looking at their other options to step up.
O-Line: A
The Eagles once again have the best offensive line in the league. Jason Kelce is the highest graded center in the league at 81.9. They also have the second highest graded Tackle in Jordan Mailata at 83.1. These PFF grades show how elite these players have been this season. Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson have been great as well. Cam Jurgens will be eligible to play week 11 against the Chiefs, and that should bring a boost to the o-line.
Overall, the Eagles are 8-1 and they have played pretty well all season. They will be facing the Gauntlet coming out of the bye week, so everyone needs to stay on point and keep this train rolling.
