After sweeping a three game road trip to the Midwest the Flyers returned to South Philadelphia for a 5-1 win over Dallas. Followed by a dreadful weekend losing to both the Colorado Avalanche and Ottawa Senators. So far this season the Flyers are 10-11-2 at home while being 14-6-4 on the road. For a team that plays in such a passionate city it does not make sense to why they play better on the road then in front of their hometown fans.

Since Carter Hart has returned from illness coach John Tortorella has been having Hart and Ersson share the net. Both goalies have been playing well but Ersson has been playing better than Hart. There have been several times where Hart has looked shaky in net compare to Ersson.

The Flyers also have several forwards with NHL experience playing in Lehigh Valley. This is a gift for having such depth in the position. Players like Wade Allison, Elliot Desnoyers, Tanner Laczynski all played for the Flyers at one point last season. And all have spent the entire season in the AHL while not putting up impressive enough numbers to have the jump back up to Philadelphia. Bobby Brink who has been a healthy scratch for the last couple of games has been sent down to Allentown in exchange for Olle Lyckell. This would give Brink the chance to play as a top six forward instead of sitting in the press box every night. While rookie Samu Tuomaala has been tearing up the AHL recording 38 points in 31 games. The Finnish foward drafted in the 2nd round of the 2021 draft has been selected to represent the Phantoms in the AHL All-Star game.

Around the League

With the performance Sam Errson has put up this season he could be a long shot in Calder voting for rookie of the year. He currently boots a 2.36 GAA and 0.909 SV% with 3 shutouts on the season.

It has been rumored that Ducks forward Trevor Zegras could be moved at the trade deadline. Possible fits for Zegras could be Montreal, Chicago, Detroit, Washington, Boston, and Philadelphia. Zegras and Drysdale become very close friends while playing in Anaheim while Cam York and Bobby Brink played with Z during World Juniors in 2021.

Flyers draft pick Oliver Bonk has had an amazing 2023-24 season. While playing for the London Knights the defenseman has recorded 49 points in 35 games. While at World Juniors the Canadian played in five games during the tournament.
