The draft is coming up and the Eagles have some major work to do. Howie has to get some help for a team that lost its footing and completely collapsed last season. There are a ton of good Cornerbacks in this years draft class. Lets take a look at a few that could interest the Eagles with their 22nd overall pick.

Nate Wiggins – Clemson

Nate Wiggins is a projected first round Corner in this years draft. He is a solid receiver who has “legit ball skills and shutdown athletic abilities” Per PFF. Wiggins ran a 4.28 second 40 yard dash at the combine, reaching a top speed of 24.05MPH. He stands at 6’2″, 175LBS. During his time at Clemson, he had 60 total tackles (three for loss, one sack), three interceptions (two touchdowns), 21 passes defensed, and two forced fumbles. He needs to work on his ability to help stop the run, but otherwise he’s a decent Corner the Eagles should look at.

Quinyon Mitchell – Toledo

Mitchell’s stock definitely rose with his performance at the draft. He ran a 4.33 second 40 yard dash. He also ran a 1.51 second 10 yard split. He stands at 6′, 195 LBS. He had a 38 inch vertical which showed his explosiveness. He also had the highest amount of bench press reps among all corners with 20 reps. In college, Mitchell had 123 tackles (7.5 for loss, one sack), six interceptions (two touchdowns), 45 passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Mitchell showed how athletic he is, and with the numbers he put up at Toledo, he looks like a top Corner prospect that the Eagles should consider.

Terrion Arnold – Alabama

A lot of eyes are on Alabama’s other Corner, Kool-Aid McKinstry, but Terrion Arnold is just as good if not better. He is a highly-graded run defender, which is something that could attract NFL teams to him. He stands at 6′, 189 LBS. He ran a 4.50 second 40 yard dash, and posted a 37 inch vertical. He finished college with 108 tackles (7.5 for loss, one sack), six interceptions, 20 passes defensed, one fumble recovery, and one forced fumble. He is another Corner the Eagles should have on their big board heading into this years draft.

The Eagles have a ton of work to do. The play from last years Corners wasn’t nearly good enough, and one of these guys could upgrade the position in a heartbeat.
