Few People Get Fame and Celebrity Status In Life.
Almost No One Does at Age Fourteen.

Local soccer phenom Cavan Sullivan is not just the youngest player to ever sign a four-year deal with the Philadelphia Union until 2028 as a first-team player.

If Sullivan plays in a match before the end of July 2024, he will:

“become the youngest player to make his debut among the top North American professional sports leagues (MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, NHL, NWSL) as well as the youngest player to make his debut among the top five European soccer leagues.”

All indications are that he’ll obtain that record.

As a youth player, Sullivan joined the youth academy of America for the Philadelphia Union in 2020.

His talent would help the club win the 2023 Generation Adidas Cup.

In March 2024, Cavan Sullivan debuted in professional soccer  in the 56th minute of an MLS Next Pro match for Philadelphia Union II. Sullivan provided an assist in the 86th minute, helping Philadelphia win 2–1.

Fifty years ago this year, the Phillies made history by signing fourteen-year-old shortstop Jorge Lebanon as the youngest player ever to sign an MLB contract for $30,000.00.

Details of Cavan Sullivan’s contract were not disclosed. Only that Philadelphia had made sports history — once again.
