Everything seems to be clicking right now for the Phillies. Philadelphia is 28-13 and owns the best winning percentage in the sport.
Players in the clubhouse spoke on a fast start this season, and boy, did they do just that.

It’s difficult to poke holes in this current Phillies team, but the reality is that things are not going to go this well forever.

The schedule is only going to get harder and it’s natural over the course of 162 games that things are going to come back to the mean.

There is no doubt that the Phillies and Dave Dombrowski will be buyers at the trade deadline on July 30, but what would be their biggest need?

Going into the season, it looked as if the center field would likely be their biggest need come July, but it seems as if the combination of Jonah Rojas, Brandon Marsh, and Cristian Pache has been doing just fine.

In an ideal world, would you want an upgrade here? Probably. But the Phillies are not going to give up on Rojas just yet.

The Phillies’ most likely upgrade at the deadline will be to the bullpen, specifically adding a right-handed reliever.

The right-handers in the Phillies pen right now are Jeff Hoffman, Seranthony Dominguez, Orion Kierkering, Yunior Marte, and tentatively Spencer Turnbull.

The only one of the bunch that has been completely trustworthy is Hoffman. Dominguez has certainly had his fair share of command issues, and the combination of Kerkering and Marte is relatively unknown. When games are tight come October, they will need a right-handed reliever they can trust.

They still have over two months until any of these decisions need to be finalized, but it’s never too early to start identifying weaknesses, and the Phillies currently have only one: in the bullpen.
The starting staff has been outstanding, and the lineup has mashed; barring injury, this current team has a real chance to win 100 games, and the front office will do everything in its power to see that through.
