Eric Dixon Is A Game Changer; He’s One of Philly’s Own.
If you want to discuss the legacy of Abington Senior High School basketball, you have to mention Eric Dixon. Seeing him play while at Abington was a show of sheer dominance.
If you loved local sports, you couldn’t spend a more worthwhile $10.00.

When I had the privilege of seeing him in 2019 — in a game against Springfield Township where his 50-point performance sent him over the 2,000-point mark — he sent Abington to a 94–69 win. If you had a chance to see Dixon between 2018 and 2019 at Abington, it was an equally impressive showing on the hardwood. Abington went 28–2 during that stretch — the first 2,000-point scorer since 1927.
When it was time for the USA Player of the Year in High School to select an option for college — the local area was the right fit once again, and he arrived at Villanova.
With his collegiate career now nearing an end at Villanova — Dixon’s 25.7 PPG average is the highest for a Big 5 player since fellow Robert V. Grassey Trophy winner Randy Woods did so in 1991–1992.
If he wins the national scoring title, it will be the first time for a Big 5 Player in nearly 74 years.
