A Win for Dunphy: La Salle’s Last Game Is One of the Best of the Season
It Was A Great Philly Sendoff for Fran Dunphy.
It Was Also An Ode to the Past — And Hope for the Future.

It was the perfect final home sendoff for La Salle as they defeated St. Joseph’s University 80–74 on Saturday afternoon at John Glaser Arena.
On the afternoon of Fran Dunphy’s last home game as a coach in Philadelphia, the Explorers honored his over 30-year coaching career with more than 600 wins and an electric performance. St. Joe’s (20–11) squandered a 22-point performance by guard Erik Reynolds II as he became the school’s all-time leading scorer.
On the other side, LaSalle (13–18) player Corey McKeithan scored 22 points while including 3 of 6 from beyond the arc, and Deuce Jones added 27 points of his own.
St. Joe’s made a furious comeback after being down 44–33 at half to pull within two points but could never tie the game. The Hawks will then prepare for the Atlantic 10 Tournament. LaSalle will wait to see if they get a bid.
Dunphy will be able to coach in the Atlantic-10 Tournament as LaSalle looks to the future.
The next chapter of the LaSalle Program will be led by players like Deuce Jones, who are playing in the splendor of John Glaser Arena.
