A Night in Venice – One to Remember Champions
For a New Jersey vacation town whose European roots date back to the late 1700s as a whaling town , traditions run deep.
This weekend was no different. Saturday night was the annual Night in Venice Boat Show in Ocean City, New Jersey.
The iconic Boat Parade that usually lasts for over three hours and famously concludes with fireworks. The Boat Parade (which is just under 3.5 miles) has thrilled onlookers on land since 1907.
This year , the theme of “70 years of Champions” launched from Longport Bridge on Tennessee Ave. and featured Bernie Parent, Vince Papale, Ruben Amaro Jr., and Flyers mascot Gritty, and is a celebration of Championship Teams. Boats were also adorned with an Eagles green and white tribute to the Eagles’ fantastic 2025 Super Bowl Championship.
Among the winners in the Boat Results were Philadelphia Sports’ themed boats, including 3rd Place: ShoreBet, Mancill, E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES! (25′ and Over Category) and 2nd Place: JABAMZ, Sztenderowicz, EAGLES (24′ and Under Category), and 1st Place: The Jemmer, Manna, 1980 USA Gold Medal Hockey Team (Best Decorated 24′ and Under Category).
The Best Lead Boat was awarded to South Jersey Yacht Sales, Bernie Parent, and Gritty, and 2nd Place: Nautilus, Schwinn, Philadelphia Union (25′ and Over Category), among many other winners in the House Results Category.
Known since 1881 for its Blue Laws, which have kept the island alcohol — free, Ocean City, New Jersey, has been a leisure destination for Delaware Valley residents and Americans alike for almost 150 years.
The Lenni Lenape utilized the island for fishing for hundreds of years before.
It was another great night of entertainment with the influence of Philly Sports.
