We’ve made it.

Another off-season has come and gone, and I would consider this one to be quite successful for the Birds. This Eagles roster saw improvement after improvement during the off-season.

The Linebacker group is one that the Eagles haven’t seen in ages. A great change compared to watching Nate Gerry go 1on1 against Chase Claypool.

Even the Wide Receiver room is deeper than I can remember. No longer is the depth:

DeVonta Smith > Jalen Reagor > Quez Watkins > Greg Ward > JJAW.

Instead the locked in WR depth looks to be:

A.J. Brown > DeVonta Smith > Quez Watkins.

With Jalen Reagor battling for a spot, the WR depth problem this team is facing during training camp is a good problem to have. Sure Jalen Reagor might be having another “good camp.” However that is a story that was around during last season as well. With only 299 Yards and 2 TD’s during the 2021 season, it’ll be hard to get buy into Reagor this year. With Britain Covey making waves through camp, both in an Offensive and Special Teams position. He could put the team in a position to move on from Jalen Reagor. Especially with Zach Pascal in the running to take the WR4 spot.

Just around the corner

We’re just over a day until the preseason game against the Jets. Now you might be saying it’s only preseason, but there’s always a chance some of the starters get a little bit of action. Nick Sirianni commented yesterday that we might see the starting lineup for the first few series Friday evening. Similar to last year.

As meaningless as Preseason might be to some. The excitement of finally getting to see all the new additions to the Eagles take the field, even if only for 1-2 series still marks the start of the best time of the year. Football season.

31 Days until the regular season starts.

Go Birds.
