The Philadelphia Eagles are in the most inactive part of the off-season.
They just wrapped up their mandatory minicamp, and they won’t hit the field again until training camp begins at the end of July.

Most of the roster holes have been filled following an active off-season, but there is still more that the Eagles could do to improve the team.

The Biggest Hole is at Linebacker

The Eagles had Devin White and Zack Baun lining up with the first team during minicamp. Are they really going to be confident that White will come off his worst season and Baun will play a position he’s never really played before? The Eagles have NaKobe Dean, too, but he hasn’t proven to be a high-quality linebacker yet.

The Birds would be smart to add to the position before training camp starts to get more looks at players. Some remaining free agents include Shaq Leonard, Josh Woods, and Zach Cunningham.

Another hole the Eagles could afford to fill is Cornerback. I get they drafted Quinyon Mitchell and have many young guys waiting for a shot to prove their talent, but James Bradberry likely won’t be on the team. The Eagles could use another guy with experience to mentor the young guys alongside Darius Slay. We have all seen what it looks like when a starting corner goes down, and the depth isn’t there to replace the talent.

There are some corners that are still on the market that could be interesting signings for a year. These names include Stephon Gilmore, Patrick Peterson, Ahkello Witherspoon, and Chandon Sullivan.

After an epic collapse last season, the Eagles still have one of the best rosters in the NFL. Their needs are mainly related to depth rather than starting players.

It is extremely important for the Eagles to have enough depth to rotate players and keep everyone healthy, especially with the early bye week this season.

It never hurts to add to positions of need, and the major positions for them are linebacker and corner.
